red mail John Woolhouse + Mary Speer - (South Anston - Yorkshire, West Riding)
I am searching for a John Woolhouse who married Mary Speer in Anston 25 Feb 1822. The 1841 census shows Mary Woolhouse aged 60 with daughter Sarah 30 and her illegitimate child Benjamin born 1839 in the Worsop Workhouse. With them is Joseph Woolhouse aged 30. I have traced Joseph and his family and I convinced that if he was with them then he had to be related in some way. I can find no John in the family that fits as all the others had different spouses. I wonder if Mary was unmarried and not Mary Speers but that wouldn't account for the marriage record. Can anyone help me?

A Robert Baker, born Caistor, Lincs, about 1855, and his wife Elizabeth A. had the following children. (a) Jane Baker (born Grantham 1886) who married Samuel Penrice at South Ossett Church in 1909; (b) Lucy M Baker (born Lincs 1880); (c) John Baker(born Lincs 1881); (d) Kate Baker (born Ossett 1889); (e) Ada Baker (born Ossett 1898); (f) Agnes Baker (born Ossett 1892); and (g) Charles Baker (born Ossett 1896). In 1881 Robert, his wife Elizabeth and first three children were at Spittlegate, Lincs. where he was employed, I believe, as a railway porter. He then moved to South Ossett, Yorkshire, where his last four children were born. Jane Baker and Samuel Penrice who married at South Ossett are my paternal grandparents; Samuel's address atthe time of his marriage was 82 Thornes Lane, Wakefield, and Jane's address was Manor Road, South Ossett. I would like to trace the families of the other Baker siblings - if there are any contacts I would be pleased to hear from you.

PC Prentice stated on Sunday morning, the 31st May, at half-past 11, he was at Spacey Houses in company with PC Eke, when they visited the Old Spacey House inn, kept by the defendants Trees. Then proceeded to the brewery yard, where he found Annakin and Wade with the defendant William Trees. All the defendants resided within half a mile of the house. Cross-examined by Mr Capes : Defendants were in the garden, which was open to the yard. PC Eke corroborated the constable's statement.
