Any further information would be appreciated, his daughter Amelia was married at Adel Church in 1905.

Looking for anyone researching descendants of James Hainsworth born Stanningley 1664 moved to Adel ca. 1702 with wife Jane, sons James, Joshua, John and daughter Rachel; later children Abigaill, Moses, Hannah, Aaron. Abigaill married Richard Watson in 1716. Hannah married James Pearson. Rachel married ? Hocks. Think I descend from John or Joshua. Am not sure of descent for next generation. Next "for sure" ancestor, Samuel Hainsworth born 1769, miller of Adel. His memorial stone says his Wife was Nancy but I cannot find any record of a marriage. Anxious to find maiden name of 'Nancy'. Their son, William Burrows Hainsworth is my 3greats grandfather. Any help greatly appreciated.

parents were William and Hannah. William was the blacksmith for the village. Jane had an illegitimate child in Doncaster Workhouse 1847 and her daughter Ruth is baptised at Adwick church. all the family disappear from Adwick in 1851 there is no mention of them anywhere in the Doncaster Census. Can anyone help?

My grandfather, Thomas Proctor was born in 1861 in Appleton near York according to his army papers. I cannot however find his birth registered around that date. His father is given as William at the time of his joining up in 1880 and his mother as Hannah. His father was Thomas DUNWELL b.1776 m Mary SIMPSON in FARNHAM in 1810. There are several Thomas DUINWELL's in this area and around OTLEY and it is difficult to find the ancestors of Thomas.

I can't find Mary Ann after in the 1901 census & either a marriage of death for her. Her parents were William Garner & Elizabeth Yates. Elizabeth died aged 21 soon after giving birth to her son Charles, who also died.

I am searching for details of Wilfred Armitage's children in Balby, Yorkshire. Wilfred's parents were Walter (b1865) and Elizabeth (b1868). After Walter died Elizabeth married a Crossman. Crossman was apparently cruel to the step children who all eventually emigrated to South Australia (Wilfred, Arthur, Ethel and George). Our grandfather Wilfred had a family in Australia. We know that he returned to Yorkshire to settle his mother's estate and stayed for a period of years and may have had another family there. I am looking for details of any family he may have had in Balby.

Hi: I am looking for anyone who was in Barkisland in the late 40's, 50's. My grandparents lived there at no. 29 and my sister and I used to spend summers there playing with the neighbours children and helping on Smithies farm. Some of the names I remember are the Musgraves, Enid Moores and Vivian Cooper. I remember being told not to go down to the dam so we used to go down and swing across on a bit of frayed old rope! Am descended from Michael INMAN (1630-1691) of Bewerley who married Elizabeth DARNBROOKE. Over the years, the INMANs lived also at Bouthwaite, Felbeck, and Harefield Hall (near Pateley Bridge). There is an excellent account of the family in Harry Speight's book "Nidderdale: From Nun Monkton to Whernside", published 1906. Covers many generations.

Any information on Anthony Webster's family would be helpful. He was born in Bickerton in 1853 and by 1881 was married to Elizabeth Addyman. They lived at the Quarry House, Parkers Quarry, Skipton Road Harrogate, later in York. Had two sons, Thomas Edward (my maternal grandfather) born in Harrogate(attended the Bar Methodist church, I have two Bibles presented to him there) and George Frederick (who moved to Bristol). Probably five daughters - Mary Webster who died aged 60 in 1941, Eliza J Webster, Harriet Ellen webster(known as Nellie) who died aged 30 in 1920 from meningitis, Annie S Webster and Edith M Webster. Harriet Ellen and Mary are buried with their mother (Elizabeth Webster nee Addyman who died aged 93 in 1948) in a private grave in York Cemetery. Anthony Webster was described in Census returns variously as unemployed labourer or living on own means. He drowned in 1902 in the River Wharfe (living in York at that time).

Approx 1915, my mother Dinah Elizabeth Heavisides aged 8, of Ripon, was orphaned and was sent to live with her 'aunt Polly' (Mary Newton) in Providence Cottage, Quarry Lane, New Park, Bilton, Harrogate. She was accompanied by an elder brother and younger sister. They stayed with Mary Newton for approx 4 years. I have an attendance certificate presented to my mother in 1918 by Bilton Church Sunday School. All three children must have attended the local school in New Park/Bilton. I am seeking information about Mary Newton and the Heavisides childrens' stay with 'aunt Polly". Perhaps school records or more Sunday school records are available. Who was "aunt Polly". was she married? When and where did she die? She lived in Providence Cottage for many years, but did she die there or move elsewhere? Any information or advice will be most gratefully received.
