Arthur and Mary married in Parish of Sowerby in 1946 before raising a family in Sowerby Bridge. Arthur's father was Herbert Oliver Taylor who was already dead at the time of his marriage. Mary's father was Frederick Robinson. Trying to track down these two ancestors Herbert and Frederick, any help appreciated.

Two children are known: Hannah bapt at Sowerby Bridge 20 June 1819 and William, bapt Bolton Brow Wesleyan 09 July 1820. In the 1881 census the following family were living at Bolton Brow: Sophia B Foxton, Head, unmar. 36; Martha Foxton, sister, unmar. 37; William Foxton, bro. unmar. 26; Elizabeth Foxton, sister, unmar. 21 and Mary H Foxton, sister, unmar. 17. All born in Sowerby Bridge. Can anyone link these two families?

searching for details of my grandads family from sowerby bridge he lived at no.18 back terrace street?? and ran away to sea served on the hms lightning during WW1 until it sank - mined?? one of the three survivors i do not have much information about him - he was short - was also a deep sea diver - have a photo with him in all the gear also a photo of his war medals - he came to new zealand in the early 1920's and settled in dunedin - he had 2 wives the first died shortly after child birth the second was the one i knew - my nana - she was from poland and she had 3 children to him they both have passed on in the 1960's and there appears to be no family information about either of them so i am now starting to look around.

Looking for information on: Louisa (Louie) GLOVER; born +/- 1892 in Prescot, Manchester, Lancashire, UK. Married Lewis SCOTT in July/Aug/Sept of 1920 in Halifax, Yorks, UK. (A very good 'plain food' cook, Louisa apparently cooked pies, pasties, etc., for sale to the people working in the nearby carpet mills in Sowerby Bridge, Halifax). Louisa and Lewis had two children; Lesley William SCOTT born 20/10/1921 born in Sowerby Bridge, Halifax and Hilda (Terri) SCOTT born 17/12/1923 at 14 Bolton Brow, Sowerby Bridge, Halifax (my mother). Lewis I remember had lost the top half of one thumb in a mill accident. Any information would be very gratefully received; Grandma Glover is proving to be as difficult as she apparently was in life ;-)

I am looking for any information on the Tyson family. Joseph Tyson, born 1827, used to travel to Sowerby Bridge in West Yorkshire with his wife Sarah Tyson, nee Blythe, for summer work. They later settled there. Had 6 children - Rebecca Blythe born 1850, Martha born 1853, William born 1856, Thomas born 1859, Joseph born 1861 and Mary Hannah born 1873. All born in Ludford, Lincs except Mary Hannah, who was born in Sowerby Bridge.

Looking for information on a Rosa Green, born in 1885 in Kinver, Shropshire. She came to Sowerby Bridge to live with her brother, James, pre 1901 census. She later married someone called Barnes. Known to have had three children - Lily, Thomas and George. Think Lily married and had a son - sho may still be living in Halifax area. Thomas died aged 14 or 15 and is buried in Sowerby Bridge Cemetery. George was born in 1917 and died in 2001 in Halifax. Think George lived down Walker Lane in Sowerby Bridge.
