John (Hugh?) Andrews born 1856 in Scotland
John Andrews moved to Skipton in 1880 after marrying in Colne in Lancashire. He was a tailor and worked and lived in Skipton until his death in March 1926. On different census he shows he comes from both Banffshire and Scotland but little is known prior to his marriage to Martha Hibbert. Any info from his obituary would be appreciated as unable to find where he was born.

Smith had 3 siblings: Maud Russell (born 1883 Thackley, Idle), Ethel Russell (born 1885 Thackley, Idle) and Gladys Lillian Stansfield Russell (born 1891 Skipton). In 1891 the Russells lived at 3 Manby's Yard, Skipton. In 1901 they lived at 4 Manby's Yard, Skipton. In 1911 they lived at 9 Bright Street, Skipton. Smith was a Clerk to a brick and tile manufacturer, Maud and Gladys were teachers, and Ethel was a clerk to a cotton manufacturer.

Thomas James Sargeson is my gggrandfather his dob 1832 is the son of James Sargeson and his wife Elizabeth. Elizabeth died in 1838. Trying to find out what became of Thomas James Sargeson from when his mother died in 1838 to when he married Anne Brown in 1862. His father James Sargeson a carpenter by trade, remarried in 1851 to Mary Buffrey and they had 3 children together. Thomas James Sargeson never lived with his father and his new wife. Does anybody know what became of Thomas James Sargeson from 1838 to 1862
I am trying to trace John O'neill b. Ireland 1855. I know he was working as a railway labourer in 1881 when he married Hannah Alice Talbot Armstrong (b1859 in Bowness Westmoreland). The family were living at Conistone Cold in 1901. Children were Rose Mary, William, Joseph, Bernard and Alice Gertrude who married James Burrows in 1908 in Skipton. James and Alice lived at Eastgate in 1928 when one of the sons Harry Burrows drowned aged 2 in the canal. Other Burrows children were Mary, Thomas, Anthony, Richard, Ann and others. I would love to hear from anyone who has any info on either the O'neills or the Burrows. I think James Burrows father was called Richard Burrows.

John Merryweather was an Auctioneer in Skipton New details of his affairs have come to light in the Bradfer-Lawrence archives held by the Yorkshire Archaelogical Society in leeds which concerns a law case around 1812 He was brought before the Magistrates in Gargrave. Mr Busfield of Bingley and Revd Collier Vicar of Burnely who resided with the Ribblesdale family at Gisburn Park As he refused to pay a fine he was committed to Wakefield Goal but was out in 2 days having paid £20. Much of the dispute was with Revd Collier and legal opinions arouse involving Skipton and Kildwick town officers I would like to find what his case involved

Researching the Hirst family which lived around Skipton between 1720 and 1820. The first record of them is the marriage of Edward Hirst and Elizabeth Biker/Byker in July 1748. They had 9 children, most of whom married. Edward was a weaver, then a farmer. They appeared to have lived in Embsay for most of their lives. I have not been able to find any information about Edward Hirst's baptism. Would be grateful for any other information on the family, and especially about finding Edward's baptism.
