red mail Too many Williams!
I am trying to sort out who was the wife of William Wright ( son of George Wright & Harriet Denton) I believe William was born in 1862. In the 1911 census I have 3 options - each William was aged 48, each was born in Rawmarsh, each was a miner, each married a Mary. The only difference is 1,Mary Elizabeth Frost was from Hoyland Common. 2, Mary Ann ? (possibly South) was born Rawmarsh. 3, Mary Jane ?(possibly Gregory) was born Dronfield. Is anyone a descendant who knows which is the correct Mary. Many thanks
red mail Endicott Family
Looking for details of Endicott family, the 1901 census shows George Endicott living with the children, George W and Alfred, as boarders at 13, Infirmary Road whilst the mother Frances lived at 20, Pottery Street also as a boarder?. Obviously a marriage in trouble. Frances's maiden name was Pearson, born in Doncaster in 1868 to Thomas and Ann Pearson. Can find no trace of Frances from then. Also George's parentage is a bit of a mystery. Any info most welcome.
red mail Cooper of Rawmarsh
Does anyone have any knowledge of what happened to Harriet Edith Cooper? She was born 1875 Rawmarsh to John Cooper & Elizabeth (nee Ramsden). Last known 1891 she was a stocking knitter living Netherfield Lane with parents. Much obliged.
red mail Grocer Edward Bool
My great great uncle Edward Bool was born in 1865 in Rawmarsh. My last info of him was the 1911 census when he was a grocer in Kirby Road Hemsworth, living with his sister Hannah Elizabeth. It appears he died in 1953 in Sheffield area. Does anyone know anything of his life 1911 to 1953. Did he marry? Where did he live? What was his employment? Thank you for any information.
red mail Late marriage?
I am trying to ascertain what happened to my great great aunt Alexandra Bool. She was born Q1 1863 in Rawmarsh and christened 24th May 1863. Her parents were Benjamin & Martha. My last record of her was the in the 1911 census when she lived at Green Lane with her sister Sarah Helen and her aunt Ann Knapton aged 89. In 1911 Alexandra was aged 48 and a general dealer. I can find no trace of a death record and the only marriage record of an Alexandra Bool was in 1924 to a George H Barfield. This would put her at the age of 61 years. Not impossible but seems improbable for a first marriage. Does anyone have either Alexandra or George in their 'tree'. Grateful for all info. Thank you.
red mail Death of John Cooper
I am still trying to ascertain the date of death of my great grandfather John Cooper. Last known in the 1901 census, when he was living at Netherfield Lane, Rawmarsh aged 49 with his wife Elizabeth, seven of their children Alice, George, Mary, Laura, Dora, John & Horace and Elizabeth Ramsden aged 80, his widowed mother in law. By 1911 his wife was widowed. Yet am not able to find a record of his death 1901 - 1911. Any ideas or help? Many thanks
