I'm looking for info about either family. They had a son, Henry, born 1866, who married Eliza Beatrice Hudson in the Otley Parrish Church, probably before 1st child was born in 1891. Henry had 10 children, 7 of whom lived past early childhood. He immigrated to Canada, then USA. Henry's son Arthur is my grandfather. Any info is appreciated.

We have an old oak chest in the family reputed to have been the dowry chest of Mary Miller dated 1678.She married into the SWIERS family from Yorkshire,Otley then Ripon.I have picked up three children born to a Robert Swiers and Mary Miller Wm. b. 1769 Ann b.1771 and Robert b.1775,but all in Wimborne Dorset.Has anyone any knowledge of these families?

Thanks to Marie who responded by email I have had to revise this FISHER entry. Thomas FISHER was the son of Jonathan B FISHER and Sarah. Jonathan was found in the 1851 census in Otley Victoria Place Otley Yorkshire. Jonathan Roandell ( Fisher ) abt 1783 London, Middlesex, Head Chelsea Pensioner ( FISHER missing from the transcript in Ancestry ) Sarah Fisher abt 1789 Carlisle, Cumberland, England Wife also 2 sons Christopher and Jonathan both born in Scarborough. Christopher was an Asst Chemist prob with his brother Thomas. Otley Directory 1834 Druggists, Smeeton & Fisher, Market place, shows that the Fisher family were in Otley by then. Another brother Isaac is recorded in the 1881 census Isaac Fisher abt 1822 Scarbro.Yorkshire,Brother,Otley, Yorkshire,Asst Chemist, He died in Otley 1882. Thomas may have been born in Woolwich when his father was stationed there but his christening appears to be in Scarborough.
