red mail Edward Hanson
I am researching my 6x great grandfather, Edward Hanson. He was a founder and benefactor of the Academy at Isle, later Airedale Acadamy. I believe he was born in Northowram, but only know he lived to "a good age" and died Jan 1803 in Halifax I believe. He had 3 brothers and 1 sister that were named in his will: William, Joseph, Benjamin, and Rachel. Rachel was married to a William Clarke, Benjamin married Elizabeth Laurence. Edward Hanson married Sarah Hanson in 1768. This was his second marriage, I would like to know his first wife. He had at least 1 son (name unknown to me) who traveled to the United States, possibly Maryland prior to 1798. Edward was a very wealthy man, and his son was not named in his will. Please contact me if you have any other information on this Edward Hanson or his family members.
