William Dixon dob 1806 married Alice Gomersall dob abt 1802 in 1827 @ Batley All Saints. 1841census he was listed as a mill owner living at Bank Top. Later census 1861 lists Alice as widowed and a Mill owner. Their son Nathaniel is listed in census 1871 as a manager in woollen factory. Curious??? any information on mills and owners may help. Or other family members from Morley area.

They had a grocer's shop in Morley. Possible residence for Ann 1881 in Devon employed as matron at Torbay Infirmary. If same person she held that position for 12yrs. 1871 census living with sister Susannha dob 1824 in Morley.

Joseph Schofield dob 1835 married Sarah Ellen Knightson 12th April 1858. She was a bonnet maker and he was a cloth manufacturer. I hope to connect him with his brother Samual Dob 1828 as the possible owners S&J Schofield of the Providence Mill Morley abt 1866. The J Schofield of that partnership went on to be the first mayor of Morley in 1886 and lived in Windsor House Albion Street . In the 1891 census I have found a Joseph 56yrs a retired cloth manuafacturer ,his wife Sarah Ellen living with sons Samual and Sidney whos are listed as having no employment, this suggests they are gentlemen with means. I am curious to find out more about my relative Sarah Ellen, if indeed it is the same family. Josephs father was listed as Thomas a shopkeeper on the marriage certificate, Sarah Ellen did not have a parent listed.

Looking for the Parents of Martha Ann Illingworth I beleave she married William Thackrah in 1877 .I have found them both in the 1881 census both aged 20yrs living with William Snr in Basford street Hunslit find them both then in 1891 and 1901 but cannot find Martha before she his married and living in Badford street . There his one in the 1871 census but that Martha his still living at home in 1881 so can not be the one .Can anybody put me in the right path Says they were both born in Hunslit.

Looking for the birth of George Townsley born about 1840 parents are John and Jane (nee Bilborough) siblings are Martha ,Joseph, then George in the 1841 census they may have been a Benjaman, and William born 1834 and 1836 but both died allso another William born 1842 looked every where but can not find George birth, the only one I can find his late 1841 in Pontifract but does not give the parents name allso seems a but close to William born 1842 who was the last child to be born The others Ifound through Family Search which give me the parents names ,all born in Leeds except for the William born 1842 his birth was in Hemingbourgh .Hope I am on the right track .

I am researching, my family tree and looking at my mothers side of the family her mother was Margaret Jane Nussey, born 1885 who married Herbert simpson 1904 Margarets father was John Nussey who marred Margaret Ann Crealley from Ireland .As my grandmother Margaret Jane died in 1938 . I have little information about the family ,i do have the census of 1881 and 1891 .If they are any more Nussey researchers out there i would lov to here from you . Searching for Obit ?Morley Advertiser for Annie AUTY nee Gibson bu. 9th July 1890,she was buried in Morley Cemetery but her husband James Auty,who died Sept 1899 was buried in Woodkirk St Marys -I wonder why not buried together? Annie's first husband was Benjamin TOLSON,he disappeared to America around 1870 so Annie re-married 17 Dec 1870 stating she was a Widow -she wasn't! Looking for Albert born 1879 in leeds the only one i can find was an invalid can anybody tell me what would be classed in 1881 census as an invalid he allso had a older sister who was one too. I CAN ONLY FIND HIM IN 1871 AS AN APPRENTICE PLUMBER LODGING AT QUEEN STREET MORLEY. WE KNOW HE WAS LIVING AT UNION STREET MORLEY IN 1873 AT DATE OF MARRIAGE AND STILL WITH HIS WIFE IN 1882 WHEN THE 3RD CHILD JOHN WAS BORN. THE WHOLE FAMILY THEN DISSAPEAR UNTILL 1901 WHEN MARY ALICE IS FOUND WITH A SECOND HUSBAND DOWN AS A WIDOW ON MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE IN 1895. SHE REMARRIED STEWARD BUTTERWORTH ALSO FROM MORLEY. HE WAS ALSO A WIDOWER WITH A SON WILLIE.DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THE JAMES STIRK I AM SEEKING. I CAN FIND NO RECORD OF HIS DEATH. HIS WIFE WAS BURIED WITH HER PARENTS AND 2ND HUSBAND STEWARD IN A FAMILY GRAVE IN MORLEY. JAMES WAS BORN AUGUST 1853 AT ALBERT STREET SHIPLEY IN BRADFORD YORKSHIRE.HIS PARENTS WERE JAMES AND ANN STIRK (BARTLE) NOTHING KNOWN ABOUT THEM EITHER.
