I am looking for birth/marriage and any family background on a Richard Taylor, born Knaresborough appx 1813-1815, who married an Elizabeth Shaw, also possibly born there, her birth would be 1811-1817 depending which census you believe. They were refused banns to be married in Harrogate in 1834,due to being out of parish, but turned up in Hunslet, Leeds with a daughter Mary Ann , b. 1837.The only other info I have is that Elizabeth's father was called William, Richard died quite young and was buried Nov.1859 in Leeds, and Elizabeth remarried a George Morrill, but the background to both of them is very thin. red mail Rev Arthur Guinness
I am researching the vicars of Holy Trinity Church, Seaton Carew, and in 1835 their vicar Rev Arthur Guinness died, and was buried on 17th October 1835 in the parish of Knaresborough with Bilton. If anyone can tell me anything further, I would be very grateful, as I'm trying to write a church history in aid of our restoration fund, and this is quite an interesting story to include in it. many thanks Julie

Looking for any information on William Waddington and his family. He is believed to have been born 31 Dec 1863. Later censuses have his birthplace as Knaresborough. He married Jane Jowitt in 1883 and they lived in Leeds for several years and had a number of children. Jane died c1911, and William brought the children over to New Zealand. Family rumour has it that he was illegitimate and the son of Admiral Hood (hence the 'Hood' middle name) but this is probably wrong. On later censuses he is recorded as a laundress labourer/tanner and I have come across Waddington linen weavers etc. in Knaresborough. Is there any connection?
