I am seeking information about the Samuel Perkins family. What little information I have comes from the 1851 census which shows Samuel, widowed, head of the household, age 56,born in Hosforth, Yorks. It lists him as a Basket Maker. In transcripts of directories for Leeds from 1829 and 1837, Saml Perkins, Basket Maker is shown at 3 George and Dragon yard, Briggate. His son David is shown as born in Leeds ca. 1823. Samuel Perkins was my ggg grandfather.

Thomas Bentley (parents Joseph and Mary) b abt 1815, Horsforth,and wife Mary, appear in the 1851 census at The White Horse Inn Handbridge Chester (he's the Innkeeper.)In the 1861 census for Bedford St,Toxteth Park Mary's a widow. Their son Walter and wife (Elizabeth Broadbent) are in the 1881 census in Bembridge St, Toxteth Park and in 1891 (misspelt as Bently) in Lincoln Street, Bootle. They emigrated to S.Africa but their daughter Isabella stayed and married my grandfather Markus Sorensen -they appear in the 1901 census for Laxey Street, Toxteth Park.I'd appreciate any more info, particularly maiden names of both Mary's! My great grandfather was Joseph Swailes. They lived at Lister Hill. He was born 1862 or 3. He was a stonemason, but fell off Kirkstall Abbey and was not able to work after that. He and his wife Polly ran a cafe in a railway carriage - I have a photo of them taken in about 1890.
Walter Gooderham,spouse Ruth Ann Booth,married 1871.Both born 1856. Children; Herbert, Reuben, James, William, Walter, Emma, Sarah and Florence. Also lived in Bramley Leeds.

Hi, I have Thomas Bentley chr 08.01.1815 Horsforth (died before 1861 as his wife Mary is listed as a widow in the census). Mary was born 1811 in Liverpool. Thomas's parents were Joseph b abt 1791 and Mary. Thomas also had a sister Sarah chr 05.04.1818 Horsforth.
