Has anyone got any information or memories of Chalepton ,leeds ,in the 1800,s also does anyone know anything about the Glass Makers Arms ,in Burmantofts ,as my great Uncle James Allinson was the landlord there in 1891. My Father William Herbert was born in Macdo Cresent ,in 1879. My grandparents were Alfred &Sarah Allinson ,Alfred was a painter .

Looking for old photo's of buildings on Thorncliffe especially around World War Two, camouflage defences A.A. batteries and especially the Hospital that was located across from the entrance to what is now Ronseal it was totally reinforced and buried under ground I believe it is still there but it has been covered over I remember going in it in the 1960's when it was used for medical checks of Thorncliffe staff any photo's of the Old computer building not the one on Thorncliffe Road this one was across from the White House at the junction of the Cart road and the road leading down to the White House. Thorncliffe was one of the first in the country to have a computer for pay rolling it was so big that it had it's own building what it did can now be done on you home P.C any pictures would be appreciated. My grandmother was born 2nd January, 1888. She was the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Plows). I know nothing about her parents and would love to trace any other family members. Searching for any info re my Grandfather who was born Harry Stinson Palmer, registered by his mother Bertha Stinson Palmer, residence 42 Station Rd, Chapeltown, Ecclesfield, dob 8/4/06. Father is not registered so I guess he was illegitimate. He was adopted by a Kent family. Any info about his mother, other family members etc. please?
