Richard's parents were William Wigglesworth, b~1818 d1883, and Eliza Robinson, b1812 d 1868. Richard was a glassworker, as was his father William, late in life. A girl lived at 13 The walk, Mount Walk, Castleford during the early 1900's.The girl lived with her mother, father and their 6 or 7 children, she was the youngest child. The house was a railway cottage back then and the railway line ran through the back garden. She lost her leg in an accident on the railway line.

I am trying to find more information about the above surnames. My grandfather was called George Henry Chappell and he married my grandmother Olga Firth. My great grandfather was George Chappell who married Eliza Brain and my great great grandfather was called Henry Chappell who also married an Eliza we believe and are all from the Castleford area. Richard was reputed to be the publican/owner of both the 'Griffin' and the 'Keel' Inns at Castleford. He also ran Keels a type of vessel used in transport on the canal between Goole and Leeds. Seeking contact with any one connected to the family of Thomas and Jane Lowther from Castleford Yorkshire. Jane Smith married Thomas Lowther a waterman in Yorkshire in Feb 1809. Probably in York or Hull. Between 1810 and 1825 they had five sons: John, James, William, Edward & Henry. James was a boot maker and died in the union work house in 1884. Henry became a potter and earthenware manufacture. Edward came to Australia. John may have become a waterman and William a tailor. I would love to hear from any one searching this family.
