Looking for info about the Taylor family. Joshua Taylor (b 1846 in Brighouse) lived in Batley with his wife, Eunice (Hargreaves) Taylor (b 1843 in Thornhill). Their children were Hoseph Herbert Taylor (b 1867), Alfred Armitage Taylor (b 1874) & Lois Edith Taylor (b 1877).
Does anyone have any information about Railway Terrace, Batley, West Yorkshire, please? Photographs would be welcomed but details of where, exactly, Railway Terrace was situated and what, if anything, is now built on the land where it stood, would be of interest. It is known that Railway Terrace was demolished in 1966, under the Railway Terrace Clearance Order 1966 (Public Health Department, Market Place, Batley). Thanks.
Does anyone have any information, photographs, etc., regarding The Peacock Inn at Purlwell, Batley, West Yorkshire, please? Where was it situated? When did it close? Is the building still there and, if so, what is it now used as? Also, does anyone know where Railway Terrace was in Batley, please? It was demolished under the Railway Terrace Clearance Order 1966 (Public Health Department, Market Place, Batley). I am trying to ascertain exactly where Railway Terrace was, and what was built in place of it. Many thanks.
I would be pleased if anyone with historical knowledge of the Batley/Dewsbury area would be able to give me details of either of these families. red mail Parker Street Batley.
I am trying to obtain old photographs of Parker Street in Batley. The houses in this street, situated beside the old Fire station were demolished in either the late 1960s or early 1970s. They were really old one up, one down style houses. Woodwell House was built on the site after their demolishion. Would appreciate any help or advice. Many Thanks.
red mail John Palmer Jubb
I am researching this particluar man for an article I'm writing for our local historical society in Michigan. He appears in our census in 1870 and 1880 then disappears until I find his death in 1899 in Illinois. The little information I've been able to find is that he was born in Drax, England on 14 Oct 1832. He was married to Esther Sutter. He was an inventor and held 3 patents as well as an engineer. I'm using this particular site because I've seen many Jubb names in this area. I'd appreciate your help.

red mail LEE/CRABTREE looking for information
I am looking for information on some ancestors. I was able to find that Thomas LEE and Hannah CRABTREE were married in the registration district of Dewsbury in the West Riding of Yorkshire in the first quarter of 1889. The reference in the General Register Office (GRO) index is volume 9b, page 663. At the time of the 1901 census - there were no records of them and their son Joseph Edward Lee - was living with his grandmother Sarah Crabtree - but not Tom or Hannah - I am assuming they both died prior to 1901. I have been unable to locate any death certificates etc. Also, I am searching for information in their parents. I know that Tom's dad was Samuel "Sam" Lee and I don't have anything for his wife. Hannah's mother's name was Sarah A. but she was widowed at the time of the 1891 & 1901 census' ... Any information or guidance would be appreciated
