Hi I am looking for my husband relative's. My husband father is Marcus Leo Aquila Wilkinson born on the 11-Mar-1908 his sister is Myrtle Elizabeth Wilkinson, their parents are Aquila Wilkinson and Margurite Wilkinson nee Jones. They were married at Barnsley, in 1904. My husband family of 4 came to Australia in about 1912, and lived in New South Wales. Aquila, runs in the family possable almost in very generation. Does anyone know of Lily Holdsworth who lived in Barnsley? I know from the census 1901 that her father's name was George and mother's name was Mary Ellen. She was born approximately 1899 and had several brothers and sisters, she was the youngest. I think they were named Amy, Elizabeth,Albert, Horace, and possibly Minnie and Johnny. James Mayers
I an American who has just (FINALLY!!) traced my great-grandfather to Barnsley Parish in Yorkshire. Does anyone have information on the Mayers family, with James as a family member. I don't know much, but here's what I have. He was born in 1831 in Barnsby and was raised by his grandparents. He was drafted into the army by the Kings Shilling at the age of 16 and served for seven years. He was a horseman in the artillery until the age of 23. He was married to Mary Ellis, who was handicapped. They had five children, some born in England, some in America. One of those five was my grandfather, Henry Mayers. The whole list of siblings was: Henry, Ellen, William, Eliza and John. Help! ;-D

My grandfather was John William Sutcliffe and was born in Barnsley to a family that were involved in glass manufacturing.
