My grandmother, Elizabeth Holmes, was born in Sessay in 1877. Her parents were John and Ann Holmes and siblings William, Mary, Ann and Fred, I think. I would love to find out more. She married Arthur Hodgson at Thirsk in 1906 and then migrated to New Zealand.

They lived at the 'Manor Farm' neer Pilmore Junction with their children Thomas, William, Elizabeth, Mary and George. George marr. Margaret ?, a son 'Watson Barker' was born 1866. Searching any information on family Prust. I have just discovered that my maternal x 2 Grandmother was called Elizabeth Prust. I think that she was born in Knottingley, Yorkshire. She married William Holmes from Keighley. They ended up living in Wortley, Leeds where my Gt Grandad William Holmes was born. Elizabeth was born about 1855. My Gt Grandad William was born 1888. He was killed in WW1 1916. I would love to here from anyone connected to either family. Regards Julie

Richard Prust is my great great grandad he lived in Sessay in the 1850s Margaret Prust nee Dove married him in 1852 there children were Mary Hannah Sarah Jas. Sarah was a domestic servant and moved to bradford where she met and married my great grandad. Sarah ended up in a workhouse in Rothwell where she died in the 1930s .Richard Prust her dad was still living at 25 sessay in 1891 but he was a widow but on the 1901 census he was in thirsk workhouse if anyone could help as to when he died and where he would be burried .The 1901 census 25 sessay shows a George Hannah Prust and chidren living there could this be a relative/ If anyone can help about any family member this would be most helpful.
