Maclean Family - (Scampston - Yorkshire, East Riding)
I am trying to fill in some blanks concerning my ancestors who lived in Scampston and/or Rillington near Malton. I am looking particularly at Thomas Maclean, who was my Great G/father, he was born 10/5/1839 in Rillington , I believe one of eight children of Charles and Alice Maclean. Thomas went on to marry Ann Calam in Nov. 1861 at Knapton Parish church. They seem to have had nine children if my searching is correct, and it looks as though quite a few of them died young, as they seem to vanish early from the records , and I can only find one of them, Henry, b.1878 actually getting married. Am I looking in the wrong places ? or can someone help me with any details of..... Alice, chrstnd 25/1/1863, Arthur ch.4/3/1865, William ch 21/7/1868, Francis, also chstnd same day, and who I believe was blind, Sarah Ann ch 1/10/1871, Alice ch. 26/10/1873, Thomas ch 10/10/1875 and Ann ch 24/10/1880. I have an idea of the death dates of Alice (1863), sarah Francis and Ann, but not the exact dates. If anyone can fill in any blanks, I would appreciate it, thanks.
