red mail Pidgeon Pie Inn / Hotel, Sherburn ?
Has anyone heard of the 'Pidgeon Pie Inn', Public House or Hotel in High Street, Sherburn ? In the 1861 census my relative George Clarkson was the Inn Keeper there and a butcher. In 1871 his widow Jane Clarkson was a 'Licensed Victualler' at the Pidgeon Pie. I'd be pleased if anyone could tell me something about the place, or maybe is researching the Clarkson or Spaven families from around there.
