red mail Sharp Family
I am researching my Husbands family tree & his Paternal Grandfather joined the Royal Navy from Market Weighton in Yorkshire. He was born 5th Nov 1892 & according to his marriage lines, to Lilian Ellen Snoswell, in 1922, at Chatham in Kent, his Fathers name was Frank, who was a gardener by trade. I would be very grateful if anyone could shed some light on this family please, as my Husband & his family never met their Grandfather, he died in action I believe before my Husband was born, so they do not know anything about him or his family.
red mail Hall family
My Grandfather was Herbert Hostler Hall, who married Martha Hague they had a small shop in Market Weighton. Hostler is the other family name passed down to the eldest son, i.e. to me by Edwin (Eddie) Hall. His sister Herbert's daughter Joyce now in her 90's lives in Driffield (2014). I can fill in a few gaps in terms of the Hall family history although it is mainly from information I've taken from the internet. Still trying to determine were the Hall family worked as a 'hostler' (A hostler or ostler /stlr/ is a groom or stableman, who is employed in a stable to take care of horses), assume it was Houghton Hall?
