red mail QUIN/FRANKS Family
I have recently discovered that my 4x great grandparents married in Fulford Parish Church 24 June 1808. William Quin was a privagte in the 6th Eniskilling Dragoon Guards and must have been garrisoned at Fulford. I do not know if Ann Franks was of this parish. They returned with their family to York - as per census 1841 - 1901 which makes me think Ann was from this area. Any information would be verey, very welcome.
red mail robert nixon
the above is my great grandfather who came from Middlesex, joined the 22nd cheshire regiment which went to Malta,Canada ,ChannelIslands then came back to England. He was stationed at Manchester then Fleetwood barracks coming to York with his family in 1873.His wife Paulina was born in Malta where they had married(known also as Mary). He left the army maybe as a result of ill health and they all lived in Clifton .He died in 1888 and the family were then living in Fulford York. Paulina remarried three years later as the family still had young children when Robert died . When she married the family moved to the York Road area of LEEDS-she is buried in Killingbeck cemetery there. Some of the extended family still live in the York area so maybe they would be intrested in some Family history which I find fascinating
