red mail William Gibbs (ca. 1786?) London area
I am searching for my g g g grandfather. All I know for certain is that he was William Gibbs and a Coach maker. It says that on the Wedding Cert. of his son, my g g grandfather William Shaw Gibbs, who was married at Holy Trinity Church Brompton, Kensington, in 1840. I have guessed William senior's d.o.b. from his sons details. I thought that Shaw might be the maiden name of my 3g grandfather's wife and I found a William Gibbs marrying a Sarah Shaw at St Luke's in Chelsea in 1808 in Pallot's Marriage Index. Could that be him? I have not found any likely matches in any of the census records from 1841 onwards, but William senior might have died before 1841. I have found another possible son, Henry Shaw Gibbs, who died shortly after he was married and without having children. It is possible that my 3g grandfather had other sons and daughters, though I have no way of tracing them. Does anyone else have the same William Gibbs in his or her tree, or other relevant information?

He had a sister possibly four years younger called Mabel. There was a brother Frederick who I believe married a Mabel and I have just found the death announcement of an unknown brother Charles who died in 1915 aged 18. I have also found G grandparents marriage certificate in a very old wallet. G grandfather was Fredrick Jones who married Elizabeth Harrington on 2/10/1892 @ Parish Church, St Mary Le Bone, London. On the certificate G grandfather is shown as a house painter, my GG grandfather is also listed as Frederick Jones – boot maker. Elizabeth’s father was George Harrington – Manager – iron works. A witness is named as G. Jones Death announcement cards show Elizabeth’s death 23/1/1907 and Frederick 25/9/1909. Therefore making four children orphans I have tried to check all Jones households in 1901 census for parents and children but cannot find a family matching all names. I know my grandfather lived for a short while with an Aunt and Uncle Harrington possibly in Sutton, Surrey. CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE? Sue

Seeking any info on Edward BLUNDY or BLANDY, m Amelia ADAMS (b 1807 Leckhampstead, Berks.) on 2/2/1834 at Lambeth, St. Mary's, Surrey/ London. They had John chr 20/3/1836 Lambeth, St. John the Evangelist, when they lived in Bond St. (Lambeth?). On the 1841 census, John BLANDY, b 1836 London, Middx., was with his maternal ADAMS gdparents in Leckhampstead, and they brought him up. He became a blacksmith, the ADAMS family trade, as did subsequent BLUNDY gens. The ADAMS family had lived in Leckhampstead for several generations. They had dau Eliza b abt 1840 Lambeth and gddau Emily J HUNT b abt 1853 City Fish St Hill. (Could Amelia BLUNDY have died, John been sent to live with his gdparents, and Edward remarried?). That Edward appears to have d in the workhouse in Notts. in his 70s. Please can anyone with access to records in these areas help me find my Edward BLUNDY/ BLANDY, estimated b early 1800s, eg on the 1841 or 1851 censuses (difficult without addresses, I know), PRs, etc., or Amelia BLUNDY's death/ burial? Many thanks.

red mail Nicholl,Leech,Hokesbury,Roden.
I have found in my Grandmother's papers a pencil written draft of a will. It was drawn up by an Elizabeth Nicholl. She left everything to her children who were John Nicholl, Lydia Leech (wife of Nathaniel Leech), Thomas Nicholl, Mary Parr Hokesbury (wife of John Hokesbury), Elizabeth Roden (wife of Elijah Roden), Grace Hokesbury (wife of William Hokesbury). Sadly there was no date on the will. I have discovered a Samuel Nicholl b.c1838 in my family tree. He was married to Rebecca Martin in 1868. His parents were John Nicholl b.c1809 and Susan b.c1811. I wonder if this John Nicholl was the same one mentioned in the will but can't find out. The will was kept with family certificates so must be about family members, I just can't find the connection. Does anyone recognise any of those names? Any help greatly appreciated!
