Margaret BECK widow living in Douglas IofM on 1861 census born Ireland could have died between 1861 and 1871, John BECK single born 1837 Ireland living with his mother in Douglas on 1861 census, Thomas BAILEY born 1852 Douglas IofM grandson to Margaret BECK on 1861 census, James KELLEY also grandson to Margaret BECK on 1861 census born Douglas 1858. Another BECK christian name could be Matilda, born 1837 Ireland listed as married on 1861 census and daughter to Margaret BECK. On the 1871 cesus John BECK born 1837 Ireland he is now married to Margaret ? born 1841 IofM they have two children John BECK born 1870 Douglas, Mary BECK born 1870 Douglas. On the 1881 census John and Margaret BECK are still alive John Jnr his name is on census but no other details he would be 17 by now and could have left home. Mary BECK b1870 has a sister Jane BECK b 1873 and another brother called Charles BECK b 1876 after this i have no idea what happened to the two boys, the two girls ended up in Preston Lancs one of them is my Gr Grandmother and one of them had a daughter in Preston which is my grandmother Edith Gertrude BECK on her birth cert no father is given, any help i would be very grateful of.

I am trying to find the descendents of my Aunt May who I never knew. I have got all the family history re her ancestors back to 1784 but am stuck now going forward from 1911 (census). May was definitely living on the island in 1983; she was born in Liverpool in 1903. Her details are: Birthdate: 15th April 1903 (Maiden name: Pritchard) Parents: Achason and Laura Pritchard Siblings: Clifford (b1905) and Harold (b1907) - the latter various branches of the family did not realise he existed until the 1911 Census appeared!! I am searching for members or information of the Kelly Family. My father John William Kelly was born in Whitehaven in 1951. His father John Kelly known as 'Bernie' was a Charge Engineer at an electric power station. He was married to Ida White. John had a brother Archie who live on the Isle of Man. I would like to obtain a photograph of a headstone in the Kirkmichael Cemetery for a Geoff Meredith, died age 27 during TT week 1928. His headstone is a marble checkered flag and was an exact copy of the flag used to finish the I.O.M. races. He was part of a team of visiting speedway riders from Australia with a promising future. Had always dreamed of going to the TT races so left the team in London to go to the I.O.M. He fell ill with pneumonia on arrival but was expected to recover. My Grandfather was wired. Tragically, he died in our Grandfathers arms, during TT week. My Grandfather gave up racing after that. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Can any one help me to find who my grandfathers parents were. He was born on the Isle of Man in 1871. He doesn't appear in the 1871 census but he is listed in the 1881 census as Louis henry Jones, a boarder living with William and Elizabeth Cowell (nee Place)who brought him up. He is not in the 1891 IoM census. I know that he took the surname of Cowell, but no official adoption records were kept then. He is recorded in the 1901 census at Bolton Lancashire with the surname Cowell. I do know thathe was brought up by Wm and Elizabeth, however I would like to find who his real parents are. William Birch was born in 1830 in the Isle of Man. His elder sister, Mary Ann was born in Liverpool in 1825, and younger sister Maria, was also born IoM in 1832. By the 1841 census, the family (parents William and Mary plus 3 children) were living inNottingham. William Sr was listed as 'independant' but we believe he was a farmer, or had been. He was 55 in 1841, but had died by the 1851 census, as Mary was a widow by then. Mary was born in Hinckley, Leics. I would like to know what happened toWilliam Jr, he disappears after 1871 census. Would also like to know where William Sr was born, and Mary's maiden name.
