Edmund Tomkins Morris managed both the Swan Inn and the Mill in the 1860s-1870s. In about 1863 or 1864 Edmund's bother, John, my great-great-grandfather joined Edmund in Upton Warren and remained in the village for about five years. Edmund and John married two local sisters, Ellen and Ann Cook, the daughters of carpenter/shopkeeper Richard Cook and his wife Sarah.
