I am looking for info on Henry George Evans, birthdate 1 June 1861 in Kidderminster. He may have been christened at St. George's Church on August 30, 1861. His mother on that record was listed as Mary Ann Evans, no father's name given. Henry was married at St. Mary's Church on 11 September 1882 to Annie Maria Betts of Stone next Dartford, Kent. Abt. 1876 in Kidderminster.The 1891Census puts his age at 14 I think it says Adopted by John Branford and Ellen Branford ( Rew ) when ? why ?. He died Abt. 1926 in Kidderminster. He had children with Mary Jane Haley also B. Abt. 1876. Some indication that they married 1St Q. 1910. Any information re William Underwood who was a boatman or bargeman. We believe his wife was Catherine 1788-1849 who died at Kidderminster. Their son also william was born 1822 at Stourport & christened at Lower Mitton. I would imagine they could be found anywhere along the waterways network. William jr became a boat builder and lived most of his life around Kingswinford and West bromwich. Dave Beckley married Cath Minchin and lived in Kidderminster. Used to run a pub in Kidderminster. Josire got married to Gravelli Enne Ellen Stokes and lived in Kidderminster. Josire used to work for Winston Churchill. Him and Gravelli had 2 kids, Joseph Beckley (04/10/1949) and John Beckley. They then divorced. Gravelli got married to John Webb (Jack Webb) whom was a fairground boxer. They had a child called Steven Webb. Josire Beckley is/was my Grandfather, and Joseph Beckley is my Father. Ted married Doreen, who was a lady in waiting for the Queen. Ted lived in a cottage in little london, Worcester. Bill lived in Worcester. Len lived in Kidderminster. He was the youngest of the six. Joseph Taylor was better known as Kinver Joe. This is all the information that i have unfortunately. I have been told that they are quite well known in their own time but i dont know if they would still be known now or not. If anybody can help me with more information, i would be very greatful. Frank Edward Sheldon WAS a batman to the Earl of Coventry and in Jan 1940 was captured in France, remaining a POW in Stalag VIIIB until May 1945. After the war he worked at the co-op bakery and in 1955 became a licensee until finally retiring in 1978. He was a founder member of the Kidderminster branch of the wra (I don't know what this is) and held the position of vice president until his death. If anybody knows this man or his family please get in contact as I am directly related and am researching the family tree so would like to compare notes! In 1851 my G Grandfather was a lodger age 18 with the Harris family. They were John Harris, wife Mary and daughter Mary. They lived in George Street Kidderminster. My G Grandfather was Alfred Russell and he came from Dover in Kent so he was a long way from home. His occupation was plumber and glazier journeyman so I assume he was doing his apprenticeship. What I want to know is what connection he had with the Harris's. Mary Harris was Mary Stokes from Upper Arley staffs. Alfreds mother was Jane Jones from Cleobury Mortimer which isn't that far from Upper Arley. Also Janes mother was Elizabeth Stokes. There must be a connection but I just can't find it. They had several children - Mary, Isaiah, Eli, Rhoda, Alfred, Tryphena, Samuel and Noah - all born between 1829 and 1850. Alfred Marchant is our direct line and he married 3 times - to Louisa Baynton who died in 1864, to Harriet Cox who died in 1903 and to Sarah Cox who died in 1906. Alfred himself died in 1914.
