Blunn Family
I have found a lot of Blunns living in and around the Dudley, Sedgeley, Bromsgrove and Cofton Hackett areas. I am interested in Jonah Blunn of Bromsgrove who married Ann Juggins of Smallbrook in 1838 at St Martin's Church, Birmingham. They were living at High Street, Sedgley in the district of Dudley when their son William was born on 16 March 1850. Jonah is recorded as being a Gentleman's Servant. Would love to find out more about Jonah. The family story is that he drove a carriage for a big family in the area. William and his mother are living at 11 School Street, Sedgley in the 1871 census. In 1881 William moved to Dalziel, Lanarkshire, Scotland and settled there with his mother and wife Ann Allen Muir. Would love to find out if there were any large houses in the area of Dudley.
Chater- Dudley and surrounding areas
For the past two decades or so I have been researching my Chater family in some detail. I have them documented in the Dudley and other areas to before 1700. My direct ancestors.I have just seen this site and wondered if any one else is doing the same thing. Would be interesting to share others thoughts. During this time a fascinating picture has emerged showing where they lived and moved about to find work. I am also working with others to find a connection between my Chaters and those in other parts of the country in the 1600s and 1700s. To go back a bit more. Anyone interested then please let me know.
