Can any of you wonderful people help me to break down a DYER brickwall,before I have a breakdown myself! lol My brain fryer is in trying to find the correct father of Thomas DYER (b c1791,Upton Lovell) whose mother is definitely Mary SHARP who married John DYER on 2/12/1788,Upton Lovell.I've trawled through as many Upton Lovell records as I can find and have found 2 definite paternal candidates,John DYER b c1764,Upton Lovell,father William DYER,and John DYER b c1765,Upton Lovell,father George DYER,but which is the correct one! I've found John DYER's & Mary SHARP's marriage record on a site or two,but,of course,none of them show the groom's father's name! Please help me!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!! I have ancestors in my family tree by the name of Kellow. Elizabeth, born c1762, Catherine Kellow no birth date, and Phyllis or Fillis Kellow born c 1811, all in Upton Lovell.I think they were all baptised at St Denys. Phyllis married George King of Warminster. Does anyone share or have information on these families?

My Great Grandfather, Frank Harding, is shown resident in Upton Lovell in the 1891 census. Given the family occupation in earlier censi from North Bradley, I would guess he was employed in the cloth factory. By the 1901 census the family had migrated to Wilton. James Lawes of Martin, Wiltshire is said to be the shepherd portrayed as "Caleb Bawcombe" in WH Hudson's book "A Shepherd's Life". His parents were William Lawes (b. ca1800) and Mary (b. ca1804) also of Martin. James married Emma Agatha Bush and had sons Joseph Frank (b. 10 September 1860 in Upton Lovell), James, Albert and possibly other children. I have information about Joseph Frank's descendants. Seeking info about other branches of the family.
