Hi, I have an error in my last posting regarding the Brockways Alfred Brockway married mary ann Hawkins b1841-1873 not Dampier. Her father was James Hawkins b abt 1820 in Goar Knap Somerset. His parents were were Issac and Eleanor Hawkins. Mary Anns mother was Eliza, James and Eliza also had a son called William Hawkins ...This shows dont take other trees as gospel.always check. lol. The rest of the information contained in it is correct.

My ancestor Jonathan Wright (who later moved to Salisbury) was baptised in 1786 in Swallowcliffe: parents Philip and Rachel Wright. They also had two daughters: Jane baptised 1782 and Mary 1779. Philip Wright married Rachel Hawkins in 1779, but I have not found any record of either of their baptisms. Can anybody help?? There appears to be at least one Wright family in the village who were tanners, but I have not found any connection to the names Philip or Jonathan.

Richard Legge was a Yeoman in Swallowcliffe circa 1577 prior to moving to Netheravon in Wilts. Has any body found him or a Legge family in this area of Wiltshire circa 1550
