My father David Edgar Williams 1907-1983 had a cousin living in the Council Houses opposite Charlie Reynolds Shop in Ermin Street,as far as I remember they were surnamed PAGE. The cousin gave me some fishing rods which I still have. Is anyone else looking for the Stratton PAGE,s ?? because I believe them to be connected to my Stanton Fitzwarren GILES somehow ,Thanks Allen.
Panton's born in Stratton St Margaret
In my search for my 3 x Gt Grandfather's ancestors I have come across a Letitia Panton born abt 1820 in Stratton St Margaret. She later married William Bridges in 1851. My 3 x Gt Grandfather was James Panton born 1778 and I am trying to find a link to other Panton's from this area. Any help greatfully received.

During WW2 this man served at RAF BROADWELL nr Burford,He used to visit Osmond Baston at Westfield Farm Shilton after the war.Rode a m/c and sidecar,I was told he had a Smallholding at Stratton!!His nickname was "WRECKER"DO YOU KNOW anything about him,Osmond who died in 1986 told me of this man,??REASON;-My 1922 Carfield motorcycle belonged to an RAF man Who flew out on D Day and never came back to collect it,WRECKER may have known the unfortunate FLIER ,may he RIP.

My father was in the Home Guard and used to go to Kingsdown and also from time to time to S. Wales for live ammo practice. I have a photo of the complete HG unit but have not seen a smaller group. Sounds interesting. Roger
