Does anyone have any information on the Bond family who used to run the village store in the main road from the late 1920s to around late 1950's. Their names were Philip Bond and Blanche Bond ( nee Blanford ). One feature of the store was a part of it used to jut out near the road and it used to get sometimes glanced by passing military traffic on the way to the army training grounds. Another nearby feature used to be a circular shaped building which used to be the local village lock up.

Shrewton Williams family
Hello from Canada... I am trying to obtain as much detail as possible concerning my maternal family tree, which for many years was based in Shrewton/Maddington/Rollestone in Wilthsire, England. My grandfather was James Henry Williams, born January 20, 1891 in Bedfordshire, England. He was one of 13 children of George Arthur Williams and Maria Louisa Tilbury, more on them in a moment... James was the only child of the 13 to emigrate to Canada about 1914/1915, he had three daughters, Winnifred born 1921, deceased 1992, Julia, born 1929, deceased 1999 and my mother Gladys, born 1923, and STILL ALIVE today in 2007.. I am her only son... so George Arthur Williams is my great grandfather... I dont know when he was born exactly, still searching for his EXACT birthdate, family stories passed to me suggest April of 1856, but nothing more... I have George's marriage and death certificates, we never knew here in Canada that he was in the military, fantastic, just like his son James who rose to Lt. Col in the Canadian army at the end of WWII. Recently, I too have been looking for information almost exclusively on the Williams family from Shrewton, each week I find a little more.. concering Robert, Harry, Frank, George and Joseph, this is my current area of concentration... I am also aware of the ancestors PRIOR to George, his father Adam, mother Ann, his grandfather Joseph, grandmother Fanny ( Frances), and yes I even discovered his great grandfather William, not certain of his spouse although I suspect Jane Ford is the lady, at this moment I dont have any specific dates for William... I NEED HIS BIRTHDATE and DEATH DATE... so can anyone help me in the Williams family, right now there are only three of the "Canadian contingent" alive... ANY HELP would be appreciated... thank you!!
