red mail Arnold family of Nettleton, Wilts
I am trying to find any information on the Arnold family. So far I know Samuel (died 1753) was vicar there, wife Elizabeth (died 1733), son Henry (1716 - 1794), his wife Tryphena (1726 - 1807), children Elizabeth (born & died 1748), Tryphena(1749 - 1818) Samuel ?, John ?, Francis (born 1751), Henry (born & died 1753). Most of the family were Baptised and buried in Nettleton. But another Henry (born 1754) was baptised at Newington Bagpath, Glos. Did the family move there? And were further children, Elizabeth, Cassandra and Mary also born there. What was Henry's (snr) occupation. Did the parents move to Chippenham at the end of their lives? Any information gratefully received
red mail Clark/Buckle/Greenwood
I am trying to discover/confirm the parents of Ann Maria Buckle (c.1801) as well as her husband John Clark (c.1799). I understand he was the Licensed Victualler who ran the Salutation Inn as he, along with his son, James, were also Butchers - hence the outbuildings used as an abbatoir etc. James lived at Westfield Farm with his large family. I am descended from Jane Clark, the daughter of John Clark and Ann Maria, who married Thomas Greenwood, a shoemaker, who was the son of George Greenwood and Sophia ? who I am also having difficulty with. Nettleton/West Kington etc. records seem to be far from complete in the late 1700`s. If anyone researching other names has information shedding light on any of the above families, that would be helpful?
