Stratton and his mother is Jessie Winifred Stratton I have him married to my cousin on 18th May 1966. Marjorie Gillespie Kirk. She was born in Newcastle on Tyne in 1939. My ancestors were born in Longbridge Deverill: I am looking for anything about the following: Benjamin Dicks, married to Maria Ford in about 1818; Edward Ford and his wife, Jane Murray, parents of Maria; as well as anytihng about the following Dicks families, all of whom emigrated to the Cape Colony in 1820 under the leadership of Edward Ford: Ephraim Dicks ( a widower) and his tso sons, Ephraim jun and Joseph; James Dicks and his second wife Jane Hall or Croft? Another James Dicks married Dinah Ford another daughter of Edward Ford and Jane Murray. Benjamin and Maria elected to remain in Longbridge Deverill where they had 5 children before they too emigrated to the Cape Colony. I would be most grateful for any information with regard to the Dicks families. Jennifer

My daughter is researching her family tree and we have gone back as far as Giles Forward DOB 1841 and his wife Mary Lampard Green DOB1845 , emigrated to Tasmania in 1882. We think Giles was born in Crockerton Wiltshire, and his parents were William and Nancy. Any more info re any of these would be appreciated.

My ancestors Stephen (b1790) & Ann Snelgrove (b1789) & their son, John Stephen Snelgrove (1830) & his wife Ann (1826) (Doughty-Barter) came from Londbridge area to Ontario, Canada in the late 1850's-eary 1860's.
