I had such a wonderful response for information on my Moms' mothers side of the family, I thought I would try my luck with her Dads'side. Here goes... JOHN ROWLAND BENNETT is listed on my Moms' birth certificate as her father. JOHN is shown as being a the ROYAL FLYING CORPS. a CONSTRUCTIONAL ENGINEER in 1918. My Moms' name was Marion and she was born JAN.20,1918 in BRISTOL,SOMERSET,ENGLAND. Her mothers' name was listed on the bc as LILLIAN VALERIE M BENNETT nee TASKER.She was from CHIPPENHAM,WILTSHIRE,ENGLAND born in 1895 to SIDNEY HERBERT TASKER and SARAH JANE PERRETT. You can view the birth certificate on my tree SMITH FAMILY TREE under MARION BENNETT. I can not find a marriage register for JOHN and LILLIAN so I am thinking they may not have been married at all. It is possible, according to rumors in my family, that LILLIAN had her baby out of wedlock and that maybe her and JOHN were having an affair and that he was married to someone else. She may have put his name down and said she was his wife just because it was not cool to be pregnant and not married during those times. Not long after MARION was born, LILLIAN left England and immigrated to CANADA, ending up in VICTORIA,BC,CANADA. I am hoping someone can give me some help with finding out more about JOHN ROWLAND BENNETT as I am at a blank wall. Also, I don't want any living relatives of JOHN'S to think I want anything other than just to fill in the missing blanks on my tree! Anyway...thanks for listening! Sincerely, Marla
