Catherine MCCRORY or MCCRORIE (born near Stoneykirk, Wigtonshire 1884, died Armagh 1930)married John McKay WEIR (born Holytown 1887, died Armagh 1939) in Armagh 1917. After her death he married Agnes BOOKLESS (born Co Roscommon 1883, died Armagh 1974). I have a box of WEIR family photos but they are just nameless faces. Can anyone help me put a face to John or Catherine?? I have managed to identify Agnes.
red mail Kelty, Kilty, Kiltie Family
My ancestor Barnard (Barney) Kity /Kelty settled in Stoneykirk on coming over from Ireland, county unknown, I think with his parents Bryan and Margaret Kelty, named on his death cert. He married three times! first wife Jean Kelly, married 1802, they had 9 children that I am aware of so far, second wife is Elizabeth McGaa, married 1822, no children found so far, third wife, Sarah Neil or O'Neil married 1846. Barney died in 1855 in Portpatrick Village, After the birth of Agnes, 1802 and John Kelty, 1804 and possibly James, birth date unknown, in Stoneykirk, the family moved to Kirkmaiden where Alexander, William, Bell, Robert, Bernard and one other, that is not very clear on his 1855 death cert. Anyone with any info on this family no matter how small, please contact me via this site, finding where they originated from in Ireland would be the icing on the cake! James Kilty had a daughter Elizabeth with Helen McCubbin in 1840, they never married, and Elizabeth is brought up by James and his wife Elizabeth Sproat, married in 1843 in Stoneykirk, this wee girl is with her father and Grandfather on the census returns and eventually settles in Ayrshire as did most of the family.
