My great great grandparents, WILLIAM BURNE & LOUISA MC ELLIGOTT married in 1845. They lived at several locations around Dublin and Wicklow - Elm Park, Merrion, Dublin and Hollybrook House, Bray, Co. Wicklow. William was a Land Steward/Gardener. They had children: William, Anne Jane, Emma, Elizabeth, Robert Charles, Thomas and George. Trying to find anyone related to Louisa McElligott. Her father's name was Thomas and he is listed as a Carpenter on her marriage record. Address was give as Cathedral Lane, Dublin. Thomas died in 1846 at Cathedral Lane, Dublin. Thank you.

Does the name Michael Joseph Nordell mean anything to anyone. He is one of my maternal grandmother's brothers. My maternal grandmother is Annie Whiston, nee Nordell.(See my previous entry dated July 07 re Whiston family from St. Kevin's Sq. Bray). I now know that Annie and Michael's parents were Charles and Mary (nee Hill) Nordell. (Charles' first wife Bridget Temple died aged 21 yrs in 1875). Michael was born in 1880 and lived in Glasgow at some point. He joined the 4th Bn. Royal Dublin Fusiliers and sadly died in France in 1916. Other known siblings are John, Charles, Esther, Elizabeth Mary, Mary Theresa and Sarah Jane. Their paternal grandfather is Isaac Nordell, who I believe lived in Dublin.

Mary Annie Frances Yoakley/Oakley was born on the 28th July 1894 and the birth was registered in Dublin. She live in Bray County Wicklow in her early life. She had two sisters called Essie (Esther) and Letitia (Latitia?). The only other information I have is that she came from a middle class family and went on to be a State Registered Nurse. She married a Samuel Joseph Yates from Stoke Upon Trent and possibly the ceremony was in India.

My Great Grandad Michael Cullen left Ireland for Leeds in the late nineteenth century. He was born in 1860. His parents were Edwin and Mary Cullen. We gather from oral family history that they came from Bray (although the English censuses have them down as being born in Dublin). I am looking for any information on the family and for any living relatives.

Is anyone interested in the Sutton family of Bray and surrounding area's? My Grandfather John Joseph was born at 2 Kilery Terrace, Upper Dargle Road in 1910. His parents were Patrick Joseph 1881 born Bray and Mary Murphy c1886 Bray. Mary died when my Granddad was an infant and my G Grandfather remarried a Sarah St Leger c1888, Bray. They had 7 children, Peter c1915, Kevin c1917, Patrick c1918, Ann c1920, Jeremiah c1923, Christina c1925 and Thomas c1926. Patrick parents were John c1848 and Ann Crimeen c1851 both born Dublin. He had 6 siblings, Mary 1873, Joseph Jeremiah 1875, both born Rathmichael, Dublin, Rosanna 1877, John 1879, James 1884 and Jeremiah 1888 all born Vallambrossa, Bray. I have traced this line back as far as 1799 with Jeremiah Sutton born Dublin. I would love to hear from anyone with links to this Sutton family, or anyone with links to the Sutton's of Dublin and County Wicklow.
