I am trying to discover where my great grandfather John Dodds FISHER (a coal miner), and his father William FISHER (a dissenting minister) were born, John over the years mentioned three different places. They are Scotland, Northumberland and Cumberland. John Dodds FISHER married a Sarah PATTERSON in 1858, in the presence of Thomas Smart SURTEES and Thomas ARKLEY. Sarah PATTERSON and Thomas ARKLEY both have strong ties with the DODDS family, and am hoping members of these two families may have more information about the FISHER family than I have been able to find.

They were born in the Workington or Dearham areas of Cumberland or Poulton cum Seacombe in Cheshire, with their sisters Hannah, Janet and Sarah and brother Stephen - a miner married to Mary Whitfield and living in Pelton Co. Durham in 1901. They were all the children of Hiram Jones (born Prestatyn) and his wife Margaret Johnston (born Dearham). Any help plse

WILLIAM, may have married before in NEWCASTLE, but not known, he did get married in LAMBETH, LONDON, to AMELIA ROBERTS, on 1st July, 1883. WILLIAM, moved to LONDON, from NEWCASTLE, and the 1881, Census, records him as a lodger with the ROBERTS, family, aged 31 years, at 39a MALVERN ROAD, WILLESDEN, LONDON, now KILBURN, LONDON. He later married the eldest daughter of the Roberts, family, Amelia. Prior to his marriage he was living with Amelia, age 19, at 118 SANDMERE ROAD, BRIXTON, LONDON, then both moved to 77 MALVERN ROAD, WILLESDEN LONDON. AMELIA & WILLIAM had 7 children, GEORGE WATSON, DORCUS, EMILY, MILLIE, NELLIE, HILDA WINIFRED and My father, WILLIAM HENRY HALL. WILLIAM WATSON and AMELIA, had my father late in there life, WILLIAM, aged 60, and AMELIA, aged 49, when my father was born. WILLIAM WATSON HALL, died in the year of 1934 and AMELIA, died in the year 1934. My father WILLIAM HENRY HALL, married my mother JESSIE LOUISE HALL in the year 1934. We would all love to be able to find out more about them and to possible see a photo. PLEASE, PLEASE CAN ANYBODY HELP?

Trying to trace family history on fathers side, have hit a blank with his two elder sisters. He was George Harold Douglas (born Byker,June 1928, died Sept 1976 in Froyle Hampshire)his two sisters were Mary and Peggy, Mary married and became a Jackson and died some years ago but don't know where or when had a son and daughter Val and Peter. Peggy I can't find anything about. My dad George also lived in Stobhill, Morpeth. If anyone has any additional info I would love to hear.

Does anyone have any information on George Wilkes who was married to Gladys Charlton and had two children George and Olive before they got divorced in the 1930's .I am the Grandaughter of George and Gladys and would be interested to know any family members of either the Charlton family related to Gladys Charlton (who had a sister Stella) or George Wilkes of of whom I have no deatils of.As far as I know both were from Walker in Newcastle where my father was born.
