IGO(E),DOYLE,CORMICK, GERAGHLY, HEVERAN
My ancestor Laurence Igo married Judith Cormick in 1866 in Glassan.nr. Muckenagh, Noughaval. She was born at Tilahillan (exact location of this farm or area would be much appreciated). She had previously been married to Mr. Heveran (Heffernan?) and was widowed. Laurence died in 1876 aged 50. Anything to add to this would be of great help. She died around 189*. Possibly all her children emigrated to U.S. But one "John Igoe" went to London. I do not know if his father was Laurence or Mr. Heveran. I am very curious to find out as he was my gt.grandfather!
red mail Athlone Barracks
Does anyone know which regiment was in the barracks at Athlone during the 1890's? I have two sisters,Mary Cunningham married John Connell O'Brien in 1894,he is described as a soldier. John went out to fight in the Boer War and deserted. Elizabeth Cunningham married a solider named Pierce/Pearce and had three children, they were in care in 1901 and Elizabeth called herself a widow, she died soon after and the children did not know their father. If anyone can shed light on this part of my family history I would be very much obliged.

I am looking for any information on the family of Patrick and Anabelle(Kilroy) Duggan who were from Athlone in the 1800's. If anyone can give me any info about the family, church or village it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
red mail Edmond and Lawrence Meighan, Athlone,Belize
Correction to my early entry: Edmond Meighan, not his brother Lawrence, was my GGGG-grandfather. My GGG- Catherine Meighan was bapt. 1806 to Edmond and Bess Ewing, the widow of John Ewing. Waldron also connects to Meighans of Belize and Athlone.

red mail Meighan Marcia Meighan O'connor
Marcia Meighan widow of John O'Conner Belize around 1800 and remarried family from Athlone, Baile Atha Luain. My great great great grandmother was Marcia Meighan daughter of Lawrence Meighan and Catherine David. They lived in Belize in the late 1700-early 1800. She remarried lived on her second husband's pension after his death. Her sister Marguerite Meighan died and was buried in Liege She had lived there with Marcia's son Henry Alexander Fraser her nephew. Marguerite was married to William Armstrong. Marcia's son had 10 children one named Edward Meighan Alexander. The girls were all named Marie (Elizabeth, Claire, Marguerite etc. How is she related to Edward and Lawrence MEIGHAN of Belize? Is the father I discovered mentioned the Lawrence Meighan that was so involved in Belize? She lived there at the same time I have found entries for them. Is she buried at St. John"s? I have no answer to my queries. I also know nothing about her first husband John O'Connor. Was he in the English Army as was her second husband? Did they have children?
Winters, Athlone, County Clare
Looking for relatives of Robert Winters, who was born in 1839. His birthplace was recorded by him in his marriage certificate ( registered Sydney, Australia, 1871) as Athlone (County of Roscommon) but in his Death Certificate (Sydney, Australia)(1913) his birthplace was recorded (by my gf) as County Clare. His parents were a "Job" Winters and an "Ann Mills". He married in Sydney Australia in 1871 a Caroline Bates. Their children were Caroline Winters, 1872, Robert James Winters, 1873, Henry Charles Winters, 1876, Arthur Ernest Winters, 1878, Ada May Winters 1881, Eva Caroline Winters, 1882, Herbert Winters, 1883, and Bessie Alice Winters 1885. He was a gold miner. The fourth child was born on the Hodgkinson goldfield in North Queensland, the last four children at Temora (goldfield), NSW. The claim to have been emigrated from Ireland may be obfuscation/ just didn't know where he really came from. No adequate match for in bound shipping has been found. Robert Winters may well have been born in Australia. Likely and (only) possible candidate, the convict Jacob Winter/ Winters from Berkshire (1780), transported 1816, married convicts Mary Hart 1830 and Catharine Laffin 1833. Need more corroboration.
Conner / Connor of Athlone
My Conner family came from Athlone Westmeath according to family lore around 1800. My gg Grandfather Thomas Conner was born in Newark NJ or New York NY about 1819. On the death of his parents when he was about 7 (first names unknown) he went to live with an aunt and uncle in Michigan, probably the Detroit area. They were Universalists. He returned to New York City, became a gilder, and married Mary Sause in 1844 at the RC Church of the Transfiguration. Their children were Mary born about 1846, Charles about 1848, Francis about 1850, Roland about 1857, and David about 1862. They all went to Michigan around 1855, bur returned to Brooklyn NY before 1860. Hoping to find distant relations who know more of the family history.
