red mail 'Sophia' of Whitburn born abt 1872 - surname possibly Patterson
Sophia was recorded as a prisoner in Durham in the 1911 census. The records says she was aged 39 and was born in Whitburn, Linlithgowshire, Scotland. Her surname is given as 'Patterson' in the 1911 census. I have marriage record of her daughter Mary Ellen Patterson to a George Shearer (10 April 1924), on which Sophia's husband is recorded as William Patterson (a Tailor - deceased). Sophia's maiden name is given as Patterson on this record. Any information which relates to the above persons would be greatly appreciated.
