I am tracing the Brisker family and would appreciate any assistance. The Brisker family were boot/shoe makers beside the canal. The following was supplied by the Lapworth History Group:- "Robert & Jane lived in a cottage in Wharf Lane (now gone), on the Stratford Road side of the canal bridge, and beside a small branch canal which served a coal wharf, which lay behind Dowdeswell House on the Stratford Road. The branch canal is long gone also, but perhaps Robert found his trade from the passing canal people, those using the wharf as well as local people."

They were all brothers. Some were farmers -one was a 'letter carrier'GPO, a headmaster and a gardener. I have found a record for a Sarah FODEN bpt Dec 1806 to a George & Hannah FODEN but can't be sure they are 'my' Mary's parents.

I am trying to find parents of James Hawkes, born 1832 in Leek Wootton. He had brothers Joseph and Thomas. Father was Samuel Hawkes. Mother was Anne, previously assumed to be Anne Tompkins. Looking to find out what became of the landlord (from about 1901) John Holman born in Cornwall around 1845. He was a blacksmith and publican. He was living at the Sheaf & Sickle with his wife Mary Ann (formerly Emblen and maiden name Cox) and their children Mabel, Charles, Thomas and Ernest. By 1911 Mary Ann was in Rugby workhouse where I think she may have died. I know a fair bit about Ernest (1894-1974) but much less about his siblings and dates of death / burial of John and Mary Ann.

Can anyone help please. Unfortunately, I descend from a long line of Smiths. However I have recently come across my Great Great Grandfather's grave in Nether Whitachre in Warwickshire. William Smith and his wife Ann Smith are buried together in St Giles Graveyard. I have managed to obtain a Marriage certificate for them dating back to 1875. Prior to the marriage William Smith lived at Longbridge Warwickshire with his father John Smith and Ann who was Ann Spires lives in Grafton, Gloucestershire with her father Charles Spires. I however have been unable to come up with a family of Smith's living in Longbridge, Warwickshire. Can anyone help me. Many thanks Emma x

He worked as a weaver until he owned the Coach and Horses PH later in life. I cannot find his baptism date or parents details from searches in Longford, Foleshill or St Johns Covenry. Any ideas?

Frances married William Dutton of Castle Bromich, born 1801, and they were married 1821 in Maxstoke. They had: Ann Dutton in 1824, but she was born in Sutton Coldfield and married Charles Henry Brockas also of Sutton Coldfield. I have found a baptism in Tamworth 26 Dec 1754 for an Elizabeth Robinson that might be her, but I cannot find a baptism for her for Middleton. William Wyatt was born in 1797 apparently in Warwickshire. He married Elizabeth ( maiden name and birth not known) before 1828. They had 2 sons: Edward b 1828, Leamington Priors, Warwick and Edward b. 1832, Milverton. The family moved to US sometime before the 1860 US Census where the father and two sons appear in Iowa. Would appreciate learning more abou Elisabeth And William's histoy.

With Madras Civil Service and seems to have retired from India to Milverton near Leamington which was also home for several of his nearer kinsfolk. Married firstly Annie Binny Guthrie (born Scotland ca. 1831, died Milverton, Warwickshire, England 14th June 1884). He married secondly Ryde, Isle of Wight 24th September 1885 Jane Laura Nickle, daughter of Major Robert William Duff Nickle. Children by both marriages.

They later lived in Sheffield and William was a grain Merchant and Brewery (beerhouse) owner there. They were married in Middlesex County in 1836. Am researching STRETTONs of NEWTON REGIS (& BREADSALL??)from early 1800s back. I'm a little worried about data I have for MARTIN STRETTON (married MARY DOWLMAN in BREADSALL on 18/8/1782). He was father of ANN (& 7 siblings), who was bapt.19/4/1795 in NEWTON REGIS. From other sources I have him b. 1756-58 in BREADSALL, Derbyshire to SAMUEL STRETTON & ELIZABETH WOMBWELL BUT 1841 census has him born abt 1766 in Warwickshire. Even with the '41 rounding,doesn't tally with the b. abt 1756-8, Derbyshire! Can anyone sort me out?

CHARLES ROBINSON emigrated to NZ early 1860. Charles is my GtGt Grandfather. Do any of these people tie into any lost relatives of yours?
