red mail Chamberlain/Welsh
My first occurrence of Margaret CHAMBERLAIN was on son Richard Leonard's Army Service Record where she was shown as next of kin (mother) living in Birmingham. The problem is Richard Leonard's surname at the time was WELSH. This was in 1890. On his marriage certificate in 1901 his father was shown as Richard WELSH. Family story is that he joined army at very young age but deserted. To join the army again in 1890 he first changed his name to WELSH. Have checked census for 1891 in Birmingham with no luck. Have searched for marriage details before and after 1972 for both names with no luck. Maybe they were married abroad and/or in army or not married at all. Any help gratefully received.

red mail GEORGE family
I am looking for any information about the GEORGE family of the parish of St Martins in Birmingham in the 1700's & possibly a connection with Worcester & Stratford upon Avon back as far as the early 1600's. There is a link with a name that runs through the family, that of CLEMENT. I am fairly sure that I have traced my own ancestors back to CLEMENT GEORGE (poss born 1737) who married MARY WHITEHOUSE in St Martins on 19th Nov' 1759. They mainly had daughters, their children were- Ann 1760, Mary 1762, Elisabeth 1764, John 1766-17868, Susannah 1768, Rebecca 1770-1779, Hannah 1772, JOHN 1774, Sarah 1776 & Ann 1779. The John of 1774 married ELIZABETH LUTWYCHE in Worcester & they moved back to B/Ham where they ran the Fountain Inn & later the WOOLPACK - they are my own family line. However, I am seeking to go further back in time & think that Clement George (1737)was himself the son of another Clement George who married Mary Whyte in 1724, their children were - John 1724, Mary 1728, Thomas 1726, Clement 1730-1731, Rebecca 1732, Rachael 1734, CLEMENT 1737, William 1739 & Rachael 1742-1746. I also feel sure there is a family link with Stratford upon Avon which would take the name Clement George back into the 1600's. ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

red mail Turvey, married Harriet Tew
I am looking for relatives of George Turvey who as married to Harriet Tew who lived in Mere Road off Slade Road, Erdington, Birmngham. also in the same road at the same time, harriets sister Florence also lived there. This was in the 1930s onwards. the reason I am looking is because the two girls ( Harriet and Florence ) were my aunts they were my fathers sisters, his name was Alfred Tew who was married to Ada Beatrice Tew nee Turvey.Who was also the sister to George Turvey, Harriets Husband. At the time I was only a young boy, and for what ever reasons, the families lost track of each other, and as the years have progresed, you start thinking of the past, and what has happened to them,at the moment I am seaching my family tree, I would love to hear from any relatives or Ancesters that may have decended from them.
