I'm trying to trace birth details & parentage of my grt grandfather Richard Marchant. All census sheets from 1871 onwards give his birth as 1862/3 in St Leonards or Hastings, but I can't find any trace. In 1871 he is 8 yrs old living as a "lodger" with a Lavinia Paddon & family in Bethnal Green but without any sign of parents. His marriage certificate 1887 gives father as Richard Marchant deceased. Can anyone help me please?

Seeking information on the family of Bertie Cecil Cobbold Wilkinson, retired Ipswich jeweller (born 1876, died 1951) and his wife Margaret Mary Wilkinson (died 1953), who retired to St.-Leonards-on-Sea, Sussex, probably in the 1940's. Known family members include: their son, Cecil George Millar Wilkinson (born 1900), who served in the Royal Artillery, his wife Gwendoline Warren (marriage in 1925), Gerald Cecil Wilkinson (possibly son of the above couple, born in the 1930's?), Betty Wilkinson, daughter-in-law of Margaret, Valerie & Sarah Poole, granddaughters of Margaret. Relative keen to trace any surviving family members.

my uncle ted stapley used to work in a shoe shop in the silverhill area of stleonards in the 1960's I can remember going to get my shoes from there but dont know how to find the name of the shop I remember somone call sairus or something sounding like that

I am interested in any information regarding the Price family who lived in Hastings St. Leonards (also known as St. Leonards-on-Sea)from 1830 to 1890. Thomas was a Fishmonger married to Temperance Branwell Edwards from Penzance and they had 5 sons and 4 daughters. 2 of the sons (William and Joseph)found their way to New Zealand (Nelson) where they married 2 Clark sisters in 1858 and 1861 respectively. One of the daughters (Temperance)married William Allen (b. about 1839 in London). They had a daughter, called Temperance Leah Allen (b. 1867), and I am also interested in her history. Any information would be welcome.
