I am researching what units of RAF and RCAF used Shoreham Airport during early part of 1943 - I know that Air-Sea Rescue Squadron No.277 used the airport. In particular, I am keen to find a list of Canadian servicemen who were in the area in March 1943.

Hello I am trying to find a children's home in the Shoreham area in the 1920s. My mother (Doris Nicholson) was here but our family have no idea of its name. Ideally, I would love to access any surviving records and find my mother's details. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a copy of the subscibed reprint of this book by Henry Cheal originally written in 1909. The chapters are: The River Adur, Ancient Ships and mariners, Shoreham Pirates and Privateers, The Flight of the King, The Shoreham Men-of-War and their commanders, The Shoreham Merchant Ships, Shoreham Shipwrecks and Disasters, The Oyster Fishery, Smuggling at Shoreham. There is also a list of Master Mariners of Shoreham and some of the ships commanded by them, should anyone want a look-up.

I am researching my gt grandmothers family who lived in New Shoreham Her parents were Charles and Sarah Steer they had 9 children. Charles was a shipwright, and Sarah was born in Dawlish in Devon. They lived in Commercial Terrace and Adur Terrace, both of which I cannot find on todays maps.
