red mail GREEN, Mary- married with HONEYSET, William.
Would like to have information on Ms Mary Green who married Mr William Honeyset (varying spellings include Honyset, Honneysett, and Honeysett), on the 27 July 1736; they had children together- Mary junior and Sara. Mary (the child Mary) would end up marrying a man with the surname Bumpstead. A child with the name Henry Honeysett Bumstead spelt without the dad's p would come with that later marrying. Don't know anything about Ms Mary Green and Mr William Honeyset (1710- death date unknown) other than that they married at St Clements Hastings and, presumably, died also in Hastings, given that the family residence remains Hastings until a change to Lamberhurst, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, long long long since the child Mary's death- the relocation to Lamberhurst was when all the people mentioned in this particular post were already long dead skeletons. Already have the Marr/g record saved and would like to get some more details, please.

red mail MORTIMER, JONES
Although Thomas Baxter Mortimer's death certificate shows his birth to be Hastings, Sussex, after years of research I believe this to be incorrect. The informant was the Medical Superintendent of the hospital where he died. I have found a birth for Thomas Mortimer, to a Jesse Mortimer and Sarah, nee Hainsworth (his parents of death certificate), in Bradford, Yorkshire in first quarter of 1839. It is possible the family moved to Sussex when Thomas was small and he grew up there until he went to New Zealand around 1866-1868. He married Susanna (Susan) Jones in June 1874. That family arrived in Australia around 1880-81, as 5th child was born in Sydney in December 1881. I have a birth certificate for a Thomas born to Elias and Jane Mortimer in Hastings in 1843, and curiously Jesse Mortimer of Bradford had a brother Elias. Can anyone confirm these birth summations?
Thomas Smith/Margaret
Looking for info on Thomas Smith Born 1822 at Hastings,Sussex. In Census returns he is recorded as being married to Margaret, no maiden name given or known. Recorded in Census returns as being born in Buckinghamshire about1832. No record discovered as marriage date
red mail BRUNSDEN, William, c1769 - Sussex, England-UNKNOWN.
William married Jane at a date unknown, and lived between 1769 in Sussex, and died unknown- though presumably also in Sussex. He had a daughter called Harriett- sometimes spelt Harriott on records. She married Anthony. Who were William's actual parents, please? Cheers.
red mail Harriott Brunsden, anyone know who her actual parents were, please?
She got married to John Reed Harman on 13th December 1823, and then took the name 'Harman'. Amusing with her given name :'). Don't know who Harriet's parents were. With Harman, she had a son called Anthony, and some others. Anthony, with his spouse Ellen Georgina Bumstead, would have Eliza Georgina Lee Harman, the mother to Dorothy May Read, who died in 1975 in a care home in Crawley. Was wondering whether anybody knew who Harriet's actual parents were, please? What seems the actual case on various genealogy sites is that BRUNSDEN have been active in the Hastings area quite some time... Cheers!
red mail John Reed Harman and Harriott Brunsden married 13 Dec 1823.
NAME: John Reed Harman GENDER: Male MARRIAGE DATE: 13 Dec 1823 MARRIAGE PLACE: St. Peter'S and St. Mary'S, Lewes, Sussex, England SPOUSE: Harriott Brunsden FHL FILM NUMBER: 1067233 REFERENCE ID: item 166 p 56 Their son Anthony and granddaughter Eliza Georgina Lee Harman were my direct ancestors; however, these seem to be the end of the roll so to speak- there aren't any more than them. Hoping somebogy can help? Thank you in advance!

red mail Henry Honeyset(t) Bumstead and Ann Eliza Lee(s).
They were the parents to Ellen Georgiana BUMSTEAD, who they had in London, and then moved back down to Hastings. Right. Not really sure Henry was a Hastings resident originally, though Ann was. Just was wondering whether anybody has knowledge as to their parents in turn. Thank you in advance, guys.
red mail Anthony Harman and Ellen Georgeana Bumstead
Hail comrades, I'm trying to search details of the above named people, who lived and died in Hastings; they had a daughter called ELIZA GEORGINA LEE HARMAN who was christened on 5th October 1680(thereabouts). Eliza Georgina Lee Harman would die in Royal Tumbridge Wells, Kent, where she had a daughter called Dorothy May Read, who would become Dorothy May Harwood and then die in Crawley in 1975, leaving three kids- Claire, who was adopted and raised as Brand in Saffron Walden , Essex, and Georgina and, also, David, who died I think in 2003 Margate. I can't track any more details on this side (the Harman Bumstead side) than A Harman and E G Bumstead; seemingly, they had no recorded Ancestors- so I assume they were either Jews, who adopted those last names, or they just had almost no official paperwork. Regardless, I was hoping someone could kindly provide more information comcerning Anthony Harman and Ellen Georgiana Bumstead (Harman). Thank you in advance.
Howe, Robert
I am attempting to trace a Robert Howe who was possibly born in Hastings in 1920 or thereabouts or any of his sons or daughters. His address was in Hastings during the War period. In 1943, during the 2WW, he was training with the Commonwealth Air Training Programme in Port Albert. Ontario, Canada where he had a relationship with a young woman although it is believed he had a family in Hastings. His relationship with Evelyn Munday produced a son Paul, and he would like to make contact with his half siblings.
Emily Matilda Miniken
I'm interested in finding out more about Emily Matilda Miniken - also known as "Emilie" or "Minnie". She was born in London in 1863 and died in Bexhill on 3rd September 1956. Emily never married. I think she left London sometime in the late 1920s or early 1930s, and may have lived in Hastings before moving to Bexhill. She wrote letters to the Hastings and St Leonards Observer in the early 1930s on the subjects of PDSA fundraising and a re-enactment of the Battle of Hastings. She used the address 7 Berlin Road, Clive Vale, Hastings. Any information about Emily's life in Sussex would be much appreciated.
red mail St Mary in the Castle 1861
I would really appreciate some help with checking the inhabitants of 5 Caroline Place, household schedule 216 of the 1861 UK Census for St Mary in the Castle, Hastings. I have an ancestor there by the name of Edwin Jackson but have not been able to trace his parents, family etc. In the 1861 Census he is shown as nephew to the head of the household, so assume he or she is an aunt or uncle. If anyone could check and let me know who else lives there I would be most grateful.
John Glyde HASTINGS
I have found an entry in parish and National Burial Index for John Glyde who was buried at St Mary in the Castle Hastings Sussex on 19 March 1842. However there is not an entry in the national death indexes for that approximate date and the local registrars do not have any certificate for him. He was shown on the 1841 census with his wife at Gas Cottages. His wife Charlotte died in 1848 and was described as the relict of John Glyde. Has anyone any ideas for what may have ocurred for his death record?

Glyde
Can anyone help. I am trying to find the death of a John GLYDE shown on the 1841 census as living at Gas Cottages (where Morrsions is now). He was living with his wife Charlotte and family. Her age given as 50 is incorrect because they were married in 1801 which would have meant she married age 12. I can not find any entry that is a likely death as I have a death cert. for Charlotte, a widow of a John (1847) that gave her age as 64 which would fit with her marriage date. Also I can not find a fit for a birth date of John either who was born in Salehurst based on the census of 1176. Any help would be apprciated

red mail Lucy Howard - Swimming Mistress?
My great aunt, Lucy Howard, was a swimming mistress according to her patient record in the 1911 census at the East Sussex Hospital, Hastings. I don't think the White Rock Baths had been opened then, so what was a swimming mistress? She was 26 yo and a slim young woman, so not fitting the stereotype of the hefty bathing box ladies.
