Knowles family
I'm looking for help with the Knowles family. I have a Richard Knowles born in 1773 in Clapham son of jacob and Elizabeth. The closest I can find to Jacob Knowles is a possible baptism of a "James" Greenville born to Mary Greenvillein Cowfold - reputed father James Knowles. I would really appreaciate any help to unravel this. Is James another form of Jacob - why would the names be different?
