Bongards of Angmering
Looking for George Bongard, bricklayer, born Heene, Worthing in 1806, had died by 1841 when widow Frances (nee Corney) is in Angmering with her 4 children. His father James Bongard or Bunguard, also a bricklayer, was born in Angmering probably in 1771 and died there in 1854. His gravestone with wife Lucy Talmedge (1770-1837) is in the churchyard, but George vanishes without trace. There are several George Bongards as a trap for the unwary - my George had a daughter Frances who married her first cousin, so her father, brother and husband were all called George Bongard! It doesn't help!
red mail DREWETT
I would interested in any further details of the Drewett family who were living in Angmering in the 1750s. William and Kitty Drewett had at least 11 children - Richard b 1751, Sarah b 1753, William b 1755, James b 1756, Kitty b 1758, Robert b 1760, Henry b 1761, Anne b 1763, Fanny b 1765, Jeremiah b 1769, and Elizabeth b 1772. I would like to know Kitty's maiden name and where their marriage took place also where and when they were born. Any other information would also be welcome. I know that Jeremiah married Mary Banfield and had 8 children, dying in Brighton in 1847. Interestingly his death is not recorded in the GRO index.
