Ethel Gomer Lewis
I am seeking information on this lady, whom I understand was a first cousin of my husband's grandfather, Ivor Llewelyn Jenkins. I believe Mrs. Lewis died in Weybridge in 1989 and if there is any family in that area who could provide me with some family background I would be most grateful. I have been told that Ethel was born in Pontypridd, South Wales and that she was a first cousin of my husband's grandfather, Ivor Llewelyn Jenkins As I can make no 'link' with the Jenkins side of the family I wondered whether Ethel was connected through Ivor's mother Elizabeth Llewelyn, who was born in Merthyr Tydfil in May 1854 (father Daniel) and married Daniel Jenkins in Pontypridd in June 1876. Elizabeth was one of 7 children, the others being Jemima, Evan, William, Mary Ann, Daniel (all born in Merthyr area) and Catherine born in Pontypridd around 1873. I believe the 'connection' has to be through the Llewelyn Family as the Jenkins family (other than Daniel) all emigrated to the United States. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mary Jenkins
