I am trying to find more about my ancestors the Collingbourn(e)s from Wandsworth. Great great grandfather James Stapleton Collingbourn, born 1806, had a pawnbroker's shop (left to him by his father James) in the High Street. Other family members included John Walker C, Thomas Nevell C, Charles C and daughters Sarah Ann C, Elizabeth Hannah C and Frances Amelia C. James Stapleton C's son was my grandfather Frederick Henry Collingbourne, born 1839, who later became a grocer and draper in Feltham. Also I believe there is a Collingbourne House in Wandsworth. Does anyone known how it became so named ? Any info very much appreciated.

My g-grandmother, EMMA CHAMBERS (nee SEE) was involved in a common-law relationship with one GEORGE BENNETT from approximately 1894 until his death at the Battersea Railyards in May 1905. The family lived at 24 Iron Mill Place, Wandsworth. Upon the death of BENNETT my grandmother and her sister, ages 10 and 8 were put into care and sent to Canada. I am looking for any records of what might have happened to Emma once she gave up her girls. She was born abt 1952 at Warboys, Huntindonshire. It is also unknown as to what happened to her first husband, Alfred Chambers, although there were still Chambers children living with Emma and Mr. Bennett on the 1901 census. ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Thomas was killed in a road accident in 1934.(not known if any children from this marriage)My father born in 1909 married Violet Dorothy Balchin born 1915 East Battersea Wandsworth who lived at 62 Stockdale Road.
