red mail Read Family of Salvadore Place Tooting
I have a photograph of my gggrandparrents and family standing outside what we believe to be their public house located in Salvadore Place Tooting. The name on the building is 'The Commical Fellows' I cannot find a public house of this name having been registered but the Read family are registered as publicans in Salvadore Place. We think the photograph may have been taken about 1910. My grandfather, Edward Charles Read is shown in the photograph as are a number of other people who may be family. I have had the photo scanned so I am happy to email copies. Edward Charles Read married Louisa Threader in 1913. His parrents dissowned him for marrying my grandmother, We don't know why but the birth of my aunt a few months later may be the reason. My grandfather Edward died in 1929 and at the funeral, my mother Ellen who was eight remembers the Read family attending and having nothing to do with my grandmother. We know nothing of the Read family. Any information would be greatfully received. Thank you.
