red mail John Clifford 1819-1919
John Clifford was supposedly born on 8 Jan 1819,in or around Streatham. He was convicted of stealing a mare in 1842,(occupation - groom) and was transported to Van Dieman's Land/Tasmania, where eventually married and had a family. Among the convict records is the following information: he was the son of Mary, stepson of John Richardson (I don't know who John's father was, not do I know his mother's maiden name), but John's (Clifford)siblings were William, Ann, Betsy,James & Mary of Norwood, London England. I also have access to a newspaper story about his 100th birthday, and have also had contact with a cousin (now passed on) who was a guest at his 100th Birthday party. I'd love to know more about the family he left behind
