My paternal aunt Lillian Bailey married Cyril George Harris in 1929.They lived in Station Rd Penge UDC, now London SE20, and ran a small shop from their front room.They had a least 6 children and I am trying to untangle these from another aunt, Eileen, who married an Ernest Harris in 1932 and had a least two children.Most of the children were registered in Bromley but I do not know who belongs with who. Any help appreciated.

I'm looking for information about my great, great grandfather Richard Winnifrith b. 1829. He lived in Hawthorne grove Penge where he was at first a blacksmith. I believe he was married twice - first to Clara Elizabeth and then to Rebecca. He became a vestryman and a publican (The Anchor). My great grandmother was Kate, his daughter. I'm keen to find out more about Richard and his family and other descendants. I'd love to see photographs of him or his family . He lived in Penge for at least fifty years - moving there sometime before 1851 - and seems to have been quite a character. I think he died in 1902.

I have a few family photo's that contain pictures of a R. Thorpe. This is a long shot, but does anyone know anything about him. Photo's taken I would have thought in late 1940's early 1950's. My parents worked at David Greigs in Penge and I just wondered if he was a work colleague or family friend. The photo's are of them on a beach and also wearing sailor hats! My family were Meads/Halls/Minters. Please contact me if you can help. These would definitely have been taken in South of England, probably Kent or Sussex.

I am searching for more information on Charlotte Baker b abt 1796, Penge in Surrey, married Jacob Sinclair 1817 in Horsley Down. She died in 1880, he died in 1881 in St Olave, Southwark, he was a lighterman on the Thames any more information on the Baker family would be appreciated.

My grandmother Ethel Winifred Chapman was born in 1877 at Osborne House, "Anerly Rd". Penge. Father: Harry Chapman, identified as a "builder", mother: born Edith Isabel Sophia Harris. Ethel immigrated to the US in 1902. Looking for more information on her father Harry. His marriage certificate (1877) gives his age only as "full". His father was identified as William Chapman, a "clerk in Holy Order". Family legend says Harry and his wife went to New Zealand shortly after 1877, leaving their young daughter in England and died on the return journey several years later.

Seeking Frank Barber, born at Penge in 1886 and his descendants.Frank's parents were Edward Barber(a builder and Jane (AKA Jenny)He had siblings Edwin, Rose, Maud,Sydney and Kate(my Grandmother) They were all born in Luton, Beds. Kate had three children. Edith(Babs)is still alive. Frank was married to Minnie(Fisk) and they had three boys, Frank Cecil, Sidney Horace and Ronald J Barber. Sidney married Dora Knowles in Lewisham in 1935 and in 1938 they had a daughter, Shirley D Knowles. In 1949 Ronald J Barber married Joan Cox in Lewisham I would appreciate any contact from descendents.

I'm trying to find info on Arthur John Durrant born c1875 who was a baker. He married Jane Violet in 1895 at St Thomas church Islington and they had a child Arthur Brighton John Durrant in Penge 1896 (born 96 Ridsdale Rd, Penge, Lewisham) Arthur gave his father as Arthur Robin Durrant (the only one of these I've found is in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk) - I can find no trace of Arthur after the birth of their son in 1896 ... I would love to find out what happened to him. Any help most welcome.

Marriage certificate shows address as Waterloo Villa, Waterloo Road, Carshalton. George's age given as 25 - Annie's as 28. George's father Albert Leonard (deceased)- Annie's as John Shynn.
