JONES/CONOLY/RICHARDS/WEST in Lambeth, Newington, Battersea
My great-great-grandfather was Edward George JONES (1844-1927?), who married Ann CONOLY in 1864. His son James (1866-c.1905; siblings Bridget, John, Alice, Arthur) married Amelia Jane RICHARDS (b.1868, daughter of Joshua RICHARDS and Phoebe Ann WEST) in 1887. Their son James Joshua JONES (1887-1915; siblings George, Frederick, Ada, John) married my grandmother Ethel May POPLE in 1914. After my great-grandfather Jamess death in c.1905, Amelia remarried Edward PRICE. I would be interested if anyone knows more about this line of Lambeth Joneses and the Richards family. They lived at various addresses in Newington, Lambeth and Battersea. Thanks, Peter.

red mail THOMAS and DAY families from Lambeth
Previous research went off on the wrong track now that I have found out that "Emma Annie PIKET(PICKET)" b 1876 married "Samuel John DAY" in 1896, but then after he died in 1914 she re-married "George Clement THOMAS". The siblings from the first marriage between Emma and Samuel were:- "Frank A DAY", b 1911, "Harry DAY", b 1913 and "George DAY", b 1914. I am seeking any descendants of these 3 men. I think that Frank may have married "Doris M WOODLAND" in 1937 and that they may have had 3 children:- 1) "Michael F (Frank?) DAY", b 1939 in Lambeth, 2) "Terence A DAY", b 1943 in Surrey Mid.E and 3)"Jean M DAY", b 1945 again in Surrey Mid. E. The children of the second marriage of Emma Annie DAY (Piket) to my own ancestor "George Clement THOMAS" also produced 3 children:- 1) "Edward George THOMAS", b 1916, died in 2002 in Bishops Stortford. I believe Edward married "Gladys DYSTER" in 1946 and that they had 2 children:- "Brian D THOMAS", b 1952 in Essex S.W, who may have married in Havering in either 1974 or 1975, or in Brentwood in 1977 (spouse unknown). "Pamela M THOMAS", b 1954 in Essex S.W, who may have married in either1975 in Harlow or 1973 in Barking (again spouse unknown) 2) Elizabeth (a.k.a Bessie?) Annie Thomas, b 1920, believed to have died in 1997 age 77 in Southwark. She probably married "Albert E CASTLE" in 1943 in Surrey Mid. E and I believe that they had 2 girls;- "Elaine A (Annie?) CASTLE", b 1944 in Surrey Mid.E, who probably married in 1966 in Sutton, Surrey (spouse unknown) "Lynne E CASTLE", b 1953 in Surrey N.E, who probably married in 1985 in Sutton, Surrey. Finally, the third child of Emma Annie and George Clement THOMAS was:- "Florence F THOMAS", b 1921in Lambeth, whom I have no further information on. If anyone would care to contact me with any additional information or corrections I will be pleased to swop valuable information with them. That said I am still seeking information on "George Clement THOMAS's" two younger brothers, "Clement THOMAS" b 1887 in Lambeth and "Henry Edward THOMAS" born in Lambeth in 1890
red mail THOMAS Family in Lambeth in late 1800's early 1900's
Still looking for descendants of 3 brothers, "George Clement THOMAS" born in Southwark in 1885, "Clement THOMAS" born in Lambeth in 1887 and "Henry Edward THOMAS" born in Lambeth in 1890. Their parents were Clement and Mary Elizabeth THOMAS (formerly "Mary Elizabeth RILEY" born in 1857 in Barrow on Scar). I think that George married "Emma Alice DAY" in 1915 and that their children were:- "Doris A (Alice?) THOMAS" born in 1916 & (as a wild guess and coincidence) may have married a "Henry A DAY" in 1942 in Bristol. "Andrew W THOMAS" born in 1923 and he may have married "Dilys M SANSOM" (born in Swansea in 1928, mothers maiden name CONSTABLE) in 1949. Their children were probably "Janet K THOMAS" born in Bridgewater in 1952 and "Andrew J THOMAS" born in Bridgewater in 1957. Any information would be much appreciated as I have a lot of incredible information about "Clement THOMAS" which I shall be happy to swop. Thanks

red mail Arthur Ernest PEARCE 1859 - 1934
Arthur is my husband's great grandfather. Arthur worked for Royal Doulton Ltd for 57 years. He met his future wife Katherine Mary Hughes at Doulton and they married in 1886. He was a head designer at Doulton's, designed wall papers, fountains & other public features, illuminated manuscripts apart from painting pottery - one item being a vase that was thrown for Queen Victoria, painted by Arthur then presented to her by Sir Henry Doulton. The 46' Doulton/Victoria fountain in the Winter Gardens in Glasgow is one of his larger designs. In his spare time he was a prolific painter - mainly watercolours. We have over 160 postcards that he painted then wrote on and mailed to family members. Arthur was born in Stockwell, Kennington 1st Part, Surrey then moved to Lambeth where he worked in the Lambeth potteries. After his marriage to Katherine they moved to Hennington, Surrey; Camberwell, London; Streatham, London and 8 Herndale Avenue, Wandsworth. I am after any information about his Royal Doulton Ltd work, residence, family etc. I am also keen to know of any of his works that are held by private collectors. Kind regards
