Ellen sarah Miller
I'm looking for the origins of Ellen Sarah Miller b. c1860. father said to have been Captain Miller who served in South Africa 1830's/1840's. Her mother was said to have come from a v.v. good family possibly tthe Coventry line and was, we think, christened Sarah. She was disinherited due to marrying contrary to family wishes as Capt. Miller's reputation as a soldier was said to have been characterised by some brutality. (family myth??) Any thoughts out there? Thanks. ps. Ellen Sarah miiler was later to marry Richard William Hosgood and gave birth to my grandmother in East Dulwich in 1892.
